28 May 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz paid a courtesy call on Lebanon’s new Minister of Culture Remon Areiji on May 21 to brief the Minister on Philippines-Lebanon relations, including the Embassy’s efforts to promote increased cultural understanding and appreciation between the two countries.

The Ambassador also informed the Minister about the ongoing registration of Filipino voters in Lebanon, which will run until 30 October 2015, in preparation for the national elections in May 2016. The Minister expressed interest in the ongoing registration and commented that Lebanon could learn from the Philippine experience.END
