Philippine Embassy and OWWA Kick Off Women’s Month Celebration in Lebanon
Beirut, Lebanon — March 2, 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Beirut, in collaboration with the Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) and the Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering (RDFL), launched the Women’s Month Celebration: Recognizing Women’s Role in Society on 2 March 2025. This event marks the beginning of the Embassy’s month-long activities in honor of Women’s Month, with the theme: “2025 Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”.
Post’s GFPO Graciel P. Dadulla talks about the significance of celebrating Women's Month.
The kick-off event, held at the Embassy, was aimed at educating Filipino women in Lebanon about their vital role in society and shedding light on the significance of celebrating Women's Month. The gathering featured discussions and presentations that highlighted the contributions of women across different sectors and empowered attendees to recognize their individual and collective potential. RDFL led the discussion during the event and also provided care kits to the participants.

The Embassy’s Gender and Development team emphasized the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of women, particularly the Filipino women abroad, who continue to make remarkable contributions to the global workforce. They also reaffirmed the Embassy's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote gender equality, empowerment, and the welfare of Filipino women in Lebanon.
As part of its ongoing efforts, the Embassy has prepared a variety of activities throughout March, aimed at celebrating and supporting Filipino women. These include training and networking events that will further highlight the indispensable role of women in shaping a brighter future for the Philippines and beyond.
Chargé d’affaires Mark Joshua Ponce awarded the certificate of appreciation to RDFL for sharing their expertise on women empowerment and initiatives.
The celebration of Women’s Month this year is particularly significant, as it aligns with the theme of “2025 Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”, which calls for women from all sectors to come together in a collective effort to uplift and shape a better tomorrow for the Philippines.
Members of the Filipino community, alongside representatives from the Philippine Embassy, OWWA, and RDFL, attended the event.
The Philippine Embassy, in partnership with OWWA and RDFL, continues to encourage Filipino women in Lebanon to participate in the remaining activities throughout the month and to be an active part of this empowerment movement.
