Philippine Embassy in Lebanon continues to process applications for voluntary repatriation

BEIRUT – As Crisis Alert Level 3 remains in place, the Philippine Embassy in Lebanon continuously accepts and processes applications for its voluntary repatriation program. Under the current alert level, the processing of Balik-Manggagawa applications and the return of contract workers to Lebanon are temporarily suspended.

Lebanon is more than three weeks into a 60-day ceasefire agreement with Israel, and beyond its borders, Syria is undergoing a political transition after the fall of the Al-Assad government.  While monitoring the outcomes of events in and out of Lebanon, the Philippine Embassy constantly reminds Filipinos in Lebanon to maintain their vigilance and preparedness in the following ways:

  • Ensure that important documents are ready and up to date, 
  • Continue monitoring local and international news, 
  • Maintain awareness of their surroundings and to; 
  • Stay in touch with the Philippine Embassy, Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Lebanon.

On 18 December 2024, twenty-eight Filipinos were repatriated from Lebanon.  The repatriations are being facilitated by the Philippine Embassy’s Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Section, the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
