8 November 2023 - The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon organized an art and storytelling session for children at the Chancery, in a joint celebration of Museum and Galleries Month and National Children’s Month.

Three (3) children of Filipino migrants were invited to the Embassy to participate in the art session and storytelling activity. The program started with a demonstration video of clay art using the art kits from the DFA’s Laro, Sining, at Imahinasyon in partnership with Museong Pambata. The participating kids recreated sorbetes carts and character figures from Teacher Ali Estrella’s demo lessons.

After finishing their artwork, the kids watched the replayed storytelling videos from the Samot-Saring Hiraya: Imagination through Filipino Stories. The children, who grew up in Lebanon with Lebanese, Syrian, and Armenian heritage, were able to recognize Filipino words and understand Filipino children’s stories with the aid of their parents.

The Embassy recognizes the importance for Filipino children born and raised in different countries to be able to connect to their Filipino heritage. The Philippine Embassy continues to conduct activities that promote cultural understanding and appreciation of Filipino heritage, alongside other priorities amid the current situation in the country.
