In celebration of Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa (National Language Month) 2023, the Philippine Embassy in Lebanon coordinates with the Lebanese National Library regarding the donation of a Filipiniana collection from its Sentro Rizal. The collection includes an encyclopedia of Philippine arts and culture, the English-translated works of Jose Rizal, and a Filipino-Arabic dictionary among others.

H.E. Raymond R. Balatbat, Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon, met with Mme. Gelnar Ataoui Saad, Executive Director of the Lebanese National Library, to discuss the Embassy’s contribution of the Filipiniana collection and future cultural cooperation programs. Mme. Ataui Saad gave the Philippine Ambassador a tour around the National Library showcasing its rare collection of books. Featured in the video is the Arabic-translated copy of the bible. 

The donation of the Filipiniana collection to the National Library is part of the Embassy's cultural and public diplomacy program to further promote knowledge and awareness of the Philippine language, arts, and culture among the Lebanese people.
