In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy-Cultural Diplomacy Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO), is inviting everyone to the event entitled “Legacies and Standpoints: Filipino Women in Multilateralism.”
The kickoff program is a symposium highlighting the status and her-story of women in multilateralism on 10 March 2023 at 7:00 am (Beirut time).
The symposium is a tribute to the first lady senator of the Republic, Senator Geronima Tomelden-Pecson, an outstanding trailblazer who was instrumental in the creation of UNACOM and the first Filipina to be a member of the UNESCO Executive Board in 1950.
