The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon sent home a total of eight (8) distressed OFWs on 7 and 12 September 2022 comprised of medically ill, sheltered runaway, and undocumented OFWs. In coordination with relevant Lebanese authorities, they were cleared from respective immigration liabilities.

Repatriates expressed their gratitude to the Philippine Embassy for extending the much-needed medical and welfare assistance considering the blow of the economic crisis on vulnerable migrant workers in Lebanon.

The Embassy coordinated with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) for their quarantine accommodations and airport assistance.
