H.E. Raymond R. Balatbat, Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon, paid a courtesy call on Engr. Fadi Alhassan, Director General for Civil Aviation of the Lebanese Republic on 22 February 2022 to discuss the Embassy’s repatriation program and the status of travel restrictions of both countries. Vice Consul and Head of Assistance-to-Nationals Section Miko D. Cabatingan also joined the said meeting.

Ambassador Balatbat raised Post’s plan to mount a chartered flight to repatriate around 150 distressed Filipinos from Lebanon in March 2022. He also expressed the Embassy’s gratitude to the Lebanese Civil Aviation for its vital role in the success of the previous series of repatriation flights since 2019 from Beirut, Lebanon.

Director General Alhassan committed to continue the agency’s close coordination with the Embassy, especially in facilitating chartered repatriation flights.
