Ambassador Balatbat presents copies of his letters of Credence to Foreign Minister Akar

03 June 2021 - Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Raymond R. Balatbat called on the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, H.E. Zeina Akar to present copies of his letters of Credence.

Foreign Minister Akar wished Ambassador Balatbat well and assured him of the Ministry's support in all projects and programs planned during his tour of duty.  For his part, Ambassador Balatbat assured Foreign Minister Akar that he would work closely with Lebanese Foreign Ministry to strengthen and further expand Philippine-Lebanese ties, especially as this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Philippine-Lebanese bilateral relations.

Ambassador Balatbat discusses matters of mutual concern with Secretary General Chemaitelly

Ambassador Balatbat later called on the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Hani Chemaitelly, who assured him of the Ministry's full support and emphasized the important contributions made by Overseas Filipinos in Lebanese society.  The two discussed matters of mutual concern between the Philippines and Lebanon.

The Philippines and Lebanon established diplomatic ties on 24 October 1946.  END
