after the successful outreach
11 February 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon continued to expand its registration and mapping activities in the country after successfully conducting Embassy identification card (ID) and overseas voters registration for the Filipino community in the eastern city of Zahle, capital of the Bekaa Governorate, on 18 February 2018.
The registration/mapping project, highlighted by the issuance of Embassy IDs, aims to build a reliable database on the actual numbers and locations of Filipinos across Lebanon. Since the campaign began in November 2017, over 7,000 Filipinos have been issued Embassy IDs, with outreach activities held in Beirut, North Lebanon (Tripoli) and South Lebanon (Tyre).
Around 70 members of the FilCom in Zahle, along with members of the Sarba Parish Group (Keserwan, Mount Lebanon) who were conducting liturgical outreach in the area, benefited from the registration activities. END
