19 December 2016 – The Philippine Embassy and Zouk Mikael Municipality successfully wrapped up its monthlong collaboration with the Zouk Mikael Christmas Market “A Taste of Christmas” celebration on 18 December 2016, at the Zouk Mikael Municipality Square, Kaserwan from 4:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.
The Embassy brought a taste of Filipino Christmas to the Zouk Mikael Residents: Filipino festive foods were brought to the Christmas market; the first lantern making festival “parol” winners are seen at the entrance and center area of the market; and Philippine made alcoholic drinks are also served in the event fitting in the municipality’s 4 day Lebanese Wine Festival (17-20 December 2016).
The Christmas Market visitors are treated with many enjoyable activities, animations and shows such as Christmas Show by MiniStudio, Louna Christmas Live, Secret of a White Heart by Anna, LA MAgie de Noel Ghinwa, Mizo et Miza 1/un noel 100/sans cadeaux by Smiley Mizo, and Les Secrets de Noel by Kazadoo.
While enjoying the market activities and Christmas show, visitors can’t help but indulge on the free food tasting of native delicacies offered on the Philippine booth such as the Biko, Maja Blanca, Puto at Kutsinta, Sapin-Sapin, Binangkal, Vegetable Lumpia, Chicken Empanada and the most popular of them all the Chicken Adobo served with freshly cooked rice.
The liquor tasting section of the Philippine booth also caught the eye of the Lebanese visitors with its unique taste and flavor, some of the drinks offered were the Dragon Fruit Wine, Amadeo Coffee Liqueur, Very Old Captain Dark Rum, Vigan Basi, Manille Liqueur de Calamansi, Manille Liqueur de Dalandan and the famous Paradise Mango Rum Liqueur. All the drinks were manufactured and generously shipped by Destileria Limtuaco & Co., Inc.
The Embassy also took this opportunity to promote the Philippines by distributing Philippine Tourism materials and showed Philippine Tourism Videos on the big screen during the event.
Future collaboration with the Municipality has been discussed and possibilities of expanding collaboration with the different Municipalities in Lebanon is expected to happen. The Embassy will continue to exert efforts to strengthen the bond and friendship between the Philippines and Lebanon.END
