09 December 2016 – The Philippine Embassy participated in the Diplomatic Spouces Association in Lebanon (DSAL) annual International Charity Bazaar on Sunday, 04 December 2016 at the Grand Ballroom Hall of Phoenicia Hotel, Beirut.
The Embassy team, headed by Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i. Mr. Enrik Fort E. Revillas with Administrative Officer Carmelita Duarte, Information Officer Loremie Bautista and Mrs. Angelica Elaine S. Revillas, manned the Philippine booth.
A total of 39 participants from different foreign missions and private companies in Lebanon participated in the event. Proceeds were donated to the Missionaries of Charity congregation in Lebanon.
The Philippines booth showcases a variety of handicrafts made of buntal, sinamay, tinalak, abaca and Ifugao materials. Complimentary food tasting of dried mangoes from Cebu and peanut kisses from Bohol were also presented to interested foreign participants and guests.
This activity is part of a series of cultural events of the Embassy for the month of December, which aim to promote mutual understanding and appreciation between Filipinos and the Lebanese; and to further strengthen the ties between the two countries, that is celebrating its 70th anniversary of the establishment of its diplomatic relations since 24 October 2016.
