09 December 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in partnership with Maison Des Jeunes et de la Culture, Zouk Mikael Municipality, Kesserwan, organized an activity for the Lebanese residents of Zouk Mikael on Saturday, 03 December 2016.

The Embassy team headed by Vice Consul Mary Grace Perpetua with Administrative Officer Carmelita Duarte, Cultural Officer Angelita Sucgang and Information Officer Loremie Bautista went to Zouk Mikael to share the Filipino tradition of making lanterns (“parol”). 

The day started with an interactive story telling for the children by Mrs. Fida Matta, followed by a paper lantern activity as demonstrated by the Embassy’s cultural officer Mrs. Sucgang.

This activity is part of a series of cultural events of the Embassy for the month of December, which aim to promote mutual understanding and appreciation between Filipinos and the Lebanese; and to further strengthen the ties between the two countries, that is celebrating its 70th anniversary of the establishment of its diplomatic relations since 24 October.END
