CDA Marlowe A. Miranda met MFAE Officials to Strengthen Philippine-Lebanon  Relations 

Beirut, Lebanon – Chargé d'Affaires ad interim (CDA) Marlowe A. Miranda paid a courtesy call  to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants (MFAE) on 10 June 2025.

The meeting involved introductions and preliminary discussions on Embassy activities with  Mr. Rayan Ashcar, Director of Political Affairs, and Mr. Oussama Kchab, Director of Protocol,  where CDA Miranda emphasized the importance of further strengthening diplomatic ties.  

The welfare of the Filipino community in Lebanon was also discussed, with the CDA providing  historical context of Assistance to Nationals (ATN) activity by the Embassy as far back as  1990’s. The officials addressed the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of  approximately 11,000 Filipinos residing in Lebanon. CDA Miranda reiterated the Philippine  government’s commitment in supporting its citizens abroad and ensuring that their rights and  welfare are protected.

Mr. Ashcar and Mr. Kchab expressed their appreciation for the contributions of the Filipino  community to Lebanese society and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue to  address any challenges faced by Filipinos in Lebanon. The meeting concluded with a mutual  commitment to further discussions and collaborative efforts to foster a positive environment  for both nations and their citizens.
