Political/Economic Assistant and Liaison Officer

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Proficient in written and spoken English, Arabic, and French
  2. Strong background in international relations and Lebanese current affairs
  3. Knowledgeable in computer operations and software office applications
  4. Excellent communication and customer service skills
  5. Willing to render overtime in the exigency of the service
  6. Very satisfactory driving skills

General Functions:

  1. Conducts research in English, Arabic, or French on behalf of the Embassy
  2. Monitors news for relevant security, political, economic, and social developments as well as reports about the Embassy and Filipino nationals and relay the information to concerned Embassy officials accordingly, including daily translation of news reports to English 
  3. Writes political and economic reports
  4. Assists the Political and Economic Sections in arranging calls or meetings
  5. Translates/Interprets from French and/or Arabic to English, or English to French and/or Arabic
  6. Coordinates with government agencies and other contacts on behalf of the Embassy for political, economic, and assistance-to-nationals matters
  7. Will act as Interpreter from French or Arabic to English and vice versa during meetings that may require the services including consular matters
  8. Replies to queries of non-English speakers on Embassy services, and route calls to the appropriate personnel
  9. Drafts minutes of the meetings, reports, and correspondence under the direction of Embassy officials
  10. Documents relevant procedures and processes and regularly update the Political and Economic Assistant and Liaison Officer’s operations manual
  11. Renders other services that may be required in the exigencies of the service
